Prerequisites:

There are several things your Scout must complete before earning this award, in addition to attending our workshop. You should complete them before you arrive, but you can also complete them anytime within 30 days after the workshop. Your Scout will not receive this award until these requirements are finished. Please refer to the following list:

  1. Watch an educational program or read a book or magazine (a total of at least three hours between them) about product design, business, engineering, or entrepreneurship. Choose five aspects of business or business leaders that interest you, and write a brief summary of each. Bring your writing to the workshop for credit.
  2. Complete one of the following Merit Badges:
    - American Business, Architecture, Composite Materials, Digital Technology, Drafting, Electronics, Engineering, Inventing, or Model Design and Building.
  3. From your research, choose a historical or modern inventor who interests you. Research them and their inventions, and if possible, the iterations their products went through before they were successful. Create a one-sheet report on that person and their products.

All other requirements of the badge will be handled at the workshop.
